Anniversary Weekend

Today is mine and Tim's 14th wedding anniversary.  We dropped the kids off at my sister's for two nights.  Our plan was to just stay home without them and pretty much not do anything, but enjoy not doing anything, haha.  We went to the movies for the first time in 18 months.  Saturday morning we tried kolaches (fantastic) and Tim's big idea for fun included going to Deseret Book to buy garments.  When they weren't open yet, we started driving home and he said, "I wish we could just go to Bryce Canyon or something."  So we did!  We went home, threw random things in a bag, took the dog to Ty's, and left. Something about getting married in July... it's rainy.  Every July on our anniversary.  We got to Bryce Canyon City and it was overcast and chilly.  We didn't really bring the right stuff so we had to go to Ruby's and buy sweatshirts (and a hair brush, and lots of other stuff we forgot).  Tim also bought a Bryce hat, so we were...

It's FIREWORK season...

July means fireworks! Usually we just show up to Ty and Amber's and they put on an incredible show, thanks to her dad's extreme love and enthusiasm for fireworks.  This year I tried to help in the background a bit as a way to say thanks for the incredible show.  It is a TON of work!  We unloaded the firework stand tent one night, box after box after box, and I couldn't really believe they do it all the time during the month.  THen I helped them unload a 53' semi truck trailer chock full of cases and cases and cases (900 of them) of fireworks.  So- thousands of firework boxes from the trailer into a warehouse.  I didn't even help the entire time, but I did with almost half and I was dripping in sweat and had well over 10K steps in a few hours.  The look on Amber's face at the empty trailer (finally!) was pretty good. They're smiling because they're eating ice cream and hadn't helped unload the tent yet... Amber's mom gave Copper a "Copper Str...

Rock Climbing, Camping, Parties, Summer...

Copper went to girls' camp this past week for the 1st time!  Except because of COVID still, it was home camp, where they took day trips each day, came home for a few hours, and went back all night for dinner and activities.  She had a ball!  They had a lake day and went kayaking and swimming, to the hot pots to soak (in hot water in 102 degree weather), rock climbing, and games at the park; nights were full of games, hair braiding, displaying favorite things, getting to know you activities, dance parties, skits, and more and more.  We barely saw her all week long.  :)  They needed a few priesthood holders to join, so Tim went with Copper to the hotpots and rock climbing.  I'm so glad he got some pictures of her- it was amazing!   She climbed about 50+ feet of rock, including over a ledge.  She wanted to quit but the girls cheered her on and their spirit helped her confidence and she did it!  I'm so proud of her, and I'm incredibly g...
