A Cool Job

I am so blessed to work for such a great agency.  This is not a joke. Despite the government politics, the few rewards, the extremely low pay, the sometimes brushed over recognition of hard work, it really is a great place to work.  I am still not kidding. This is the one agency whose administration and overall support is extremely family oriented.  Countless times I have missed meetings and appointments because of family related stuff, and it's okay.  Work doesn't get done (work never gets done) and it's okay.  There's always tomorrow, and there always seems to be time to get done what absolutely has to get done.  I feel so grateful to have an incredible supervisor whom I've gotten to know, love so much, and trust.  She's really one in a million.  I work with incredible people too.  My co-workers are awesome.  I love the team I am assigned to- they make me laugh so hard, and I love the people in my own office.  They are just ...

Two down, one to go...

Copper went back to the doctor yesterday.  That's what happens when you continually throw up your antibiotics.  So instead they gave her one of three high dosage shots.  She screamed and looked at me as if to ask why I wasn't protecting her.  So today, for the second shot, I decided not to be within eye contact range.  She still scremed but at least I didn't see the look and fear right when they poked the needle through her skinny little bum cheek.  Still, sad.  One more tomorrow. Then maybe she'll start eating (yeah right) and sleeping (ha ha).
Copper's best friend is her dad.  He's the one she crawls on, jumps to, builds lego towers with, and rough houses with.  They're pretty tight. I'm happy about it. But while Tim gets the giggles and shrieks, I get the whimpering, crying, and clinging.  This weekend (and it's only Friday...) I am Copper's best friend.  We could be touching cheek to cheek and it wouldn't be close enough.  I get the snot, the coughing, the heat radiating from her fevered body.  I leave to go into another room and she's following me or crying for me.  She falls asleep holding my hand.  It's endearing.  Sort of.  Actually, it's tiring. A trip to InstaCare following a 102 fever shed light on a double ear infection. Sad.

Random Thoughts

1.  Today is Tim's birthday.  He's an awesome person.  Fantastic dad and husband.  Caring, smart, loving, patient, persistent, loving, helpful, and most importantly very gospel oriented.  He never hesitates serving us or  verbally thanking Heavenly Father he has us as a family.  He's frank and bold, tells it how it is, and is funny in ways that always makes me laugh and not always anyone else.  :)  Happy Birthday! 2.  Copper is also an awesome little being.  She has this incredible spirit- really a personality that has to be appreciated, awed, and loved.  For being a tiny person who is still becoming, she's very aware of herself and her surroundings- compassionate, sharing, loving, empathic.  And full of life- curious to the extreme, observant, funny, giggly, very lovable.  3.  My blood sugar, which is supposed to be under 140, came up at 236 after breakfast.  A breakfast of toast and milk.  Man that ...
