Disneyland Day 1

Tuesday morning we got up early (5:30) and were in California by 11:00.  I thought I'd do more of my share of driving, but when we hit traffic in the city, I got more than agitated.  It took us another TWO hours to get to Anaheim!  We drove straight to Disneyland and paid an atrocious $18 for parking.  No time to look for our hotel yet, we gotta get our Disney on!   Beforehand, I took advantage of Pinterest ideas and made our own Minnie Mouse ears, name tags, and an autograph book for the characters. By the time we got there, nobody really cared, haha. The girls loved the castle, the rides, the shops!  We paid an outrageous amount for popcorn and churros and Diet Coke.  Totally worth it.  We checked out souvenirs and told the girls they had three days to look before I'd let them buy.  It was a hard sell for Micah.  Copper and Taryn tried their hardest to pull out the sword in the stone; Tim showed them how it couldn't be don...

Las Vegas!

Our trip began on Monday!  Not bad planning on my part, since it was President's Day and I got paid for eight hours of it.  We hit the road by 7:30 after picking up Taryn and Grandma. By Santaquin, Micah had already asked, "Are we almost there yet?" twice.  Thankfully we came prepared for a drive!  I wrapped presents they could open intermittently, bought new coloring books, packed movies and books, and made dry-erase activities like road bingo, hangman, tick-tack-toe, and word searches.  Grandma's iPad helped, haha.  We stopped in St. George for lunch and the kids stretched, ran, played, and ate the picnic I packed. We broke up the ten hour drive to California by staying in Vegas on Monday night.  The kids were in awe with all the hotels, millions of lights, and thousands of crazy (half-dressed, drunk) people.  We hit M&M world, the Hershey Chocolate Shop, and Coke world.  Taryn got eaten by the Coke Bear, Dakota found every soft...

Post Valentine's Post

Valentine's to us means...  Practicing our name and making Valentine's for our friends... which we never gave out... Making Valentine's boxes for school, which turned out okay... and doing nothing else... Tim and I have never really celebrated Valentine's formally.  Every year it's, "So... we're not buying each other crap for Valentine's, right?"  "Right."

Happy 34th!

The weekend was full of celebrating for Tim's birthday!  Highlights included peanut butter bars (his favorite... and we nearly ate the whole pan), lots of decorations (including a huge banner across the garage), singing and praising and appreciating, and dinner out for pizza on Saturday night.  I'm so thankful for a Very wonderful husband and feel even luckier he's the father of our gals.  They love him almost as much as I do!
