Taryn had her wisdom teeth out.  Her post-surgery videos were hilarious; she cried and yelled for cheeseburgers, she cried for the gal in the next room who also had her wisdom teeth out; she cried because her dad told her she lost her wisdom.  Pretty funny! The gals protecting the pooch from my wrath... Micah got her sparring gear. Yay! Also, Micah made her own shelf in her room from cardboard trash.  Pretty clever. Our neighbor had like 100 feet cut off her ginormous trees and had nowhere to take them.  Luckily our neighborhood came to help.  The girls had fun hauling branch after branch from the back to the front yard.  Tim had fun loading trailer and trailer load to the dump.  Well, I don't think he thought it was fun, but he's always a humble helper. This is what Red looks like when he spends an hour digging great big holes in our backyard in attempt to escape.  I, fairly seriously, blame COVID a little bit.  Prior to this year, Red spent...

We Took A Trip: Day 9

We left St. George on Sunday morning.  The girls slept through the drive and finished whatever homework they hadn't finished.  I'm proud of them- doing a whole week's worth of schoolwork on our vacation.  We tried to listen to General Conference on the way back but service was sketchy.  So I mostly slept, haha. I'm grateful for a lot of things: Our cute neighbor friend Zoey for taking care of our chickens and cat My friend and neighbor for checking on our newest chicken that is hated by the others and for grabbing our mail and random deliveries My bro and SIL for taking care of Red, who was very, very, very naughty (story for another day) My mom and Taryn for their unexpected help with Red, who continued to be naughty For Tim's hard work and his knowledge of pulling the trailer all over and fixing the things that came up For my job for being so flexible, coworkers willing to cover stuff, and plenty of paid time off For fantastic weather  For safe travels- no maj...

We Took A Trip: Day 8

Saturday was a Zion day again; the earliest we could get in was 11 again, so we packed a lunch and tried to get there early enough to explore Springdale more and be first in line for the shuttle.  It mostly worked. Our plan in Zion was to hike the lower, middle, and upper Emerald Pools.  It's a pretty hike, long, with lots of dirt paths but also climbing through and over rocks.  One lady got mad at me and Kota for not wearing masks on the trail.  I think it took her much longer to preach to us than to just keep passing us, minding her own business.  What a world right now!  I refuse to wear masks while hiking outdoors...  The two upper falls drip down onto the lower paths and it creates the most beautiful little trail.  I loved it! Finally made it to the upper Emerald Pool!  All of the sudden, the narrow trail just opens up to a beautiful, flat area with the pond (pretty shallow in the fall season) but a ton of room to climb, sit, rest,...
