Christmas afternoon

We spent Christmas afternoon at my mom's.  It's not too often all of us are there at the same time, maybe a few times a year, and it was crazy but fun!  We feasted on turkey and ham and veggies, and had pie and cookies.  The cousins and siblings all draw names so we don't have to buy for everyone.  Copper got a fun game and some little princess trinkets.  The babes got toy strollers they love to push around. My parents again spoiled everyone.  Tim and I got a microwave that goes over our stove- it's super nice.  The girls got toys, including a toy kitchen my mom got quite the deal on, and the babes little chairs.  Again, we are so grateful for loving and giving family.  Whenever we're at my mom's Tim complains about how small their forks are.  So my mom served him with a serving sized fork, spoon, and knife.  And he used them!  I thought this was great; my twin bros got matching, huge, remote contr...

Christmas morning

Christmas morning!  Babes woke up at 6:30 and soon after we went in Copper's room to wake her up.  The babes wouldn't have lasted much longer staying upstairs.  When I asked Copper if she wanted to see what Santa brought her she said, "Well, he didn't come."  She was pretty sure he didn't come until she walked clear downstairs.  Santa brought all the girls little bikes and Tim and I got them dress up clothes, books, a few clothes, and a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse CD of all their favorite songs.  Not long after we heard Copper say, "This is the best Christmas ever!"  It was pretty funny, especially since this might be the only one she really remembers.   Know what this is?  Diabetes in a 1 pound package mistakenly labeled Reese's.  :)

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve morning and afternoon was uneventful.  It snowed all day and we lounged around not feeling too well.  Tim had already been sick and it was coming for the rest of us!  Copper and Tim attempted another snowman since the one in the backyard fell over.  This one at least lasted half a day.  The babes roughed house Copper and we read stories and made cookies, cake balls, cheese balls, and more. That night we traveled to Tim's parents'. We feasted on yummy lasagna and a table full of chocolates, treats, and cookies.  We were spoiled, as always with enough gifts to have lasted a few Christmas seasons.  The girls got clothes, toys, games, books, and more.  I was lucky enough to get new pots and pans- nice ones.  We're grateful to have such loving family!

Frosty, giving, and thanking

A few weeks ago  Copper and Tim ventured outside to build Frosty.  To make a long story short, Copper was quite disappointed when he didn't come to life when she put a hat on him.  Don't worry, she said she'd ask Santa for a magic hat.  That must be the problem. This weekend we got this put together, a secret Santa package to a family in need.  Copper can't wait to ditch it on the doorstep and run.  Her highlight of the Christmas season is leaving secret gifts. And we colored Christmas thank you cards to give to both sets of grandparents and Santa in just a few days!
Copper wore her Santa hat and found a red bag from her toy room, walked around saying "Ho, ho, ho, Merry Christmas!" and then added, "Kota, naughty, no Christmas for you."  It was sooo funny. Last week Mrs. Clause visited Copper's Talking Time.  I thought the kids, only five of them, were going to have a heart attack.  Not out of excitement but fear.  Then Mrs. Clause started telling the kids she really knew them from Santa's book, talking about their siblings, their favorite foods, and what they liked to do.  They warmed up and got really excited when they got a present, a book and candy cane.
