Game of Games

Game of Games   We've whittled it down a level... I'm not sure why I think it's a good idea to record all of this, but this Game of Games is kind of a big deal around here, so I'm making note of our progress.   Cover your Assets vs. Cover your Kingdom: Cover your Kingdom Skull King vs. Rook: Skull King Code Names vs. Disney Code Names: Code Names  New World vs. Small World: Small World Dominion vs. Cthulu: Cthulu Forbidden Island vs. Ghost Fighting Treasure Hunters: Forbidden Island Farkle vs. Tenzi: Farkle Telestrations vs. Sequence: Sequence Bears & Bees vs. Nuts About Mutts: Bears & Bees Sleeping Queens vs. Dos: Sleeping Queens Uno vs. Harry Potter Uno: Harry Potter Uno Exploding Kittens vs. Unstable Unicorns: Exploding Kittens Sushi Go vs. Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, Pizza:  Taco... St. George

Last weekend I went to St. George with Shandee and Amber. It was fun, sunny, and a nice getaway.  Except for the driving: rear-ended on the way there and a five hour trip on the way home b/c of an accident and a blizzard. But for two days it was good!  We walked through the desert gardens and climbed the red rocks at Pioneer Park.   We found places to eat they didn't have anywhere else.  I fell in love with the taco shop that looked like a dive but had the most AMAZING street tacos.  Liked it enough I took their picture.  We found rolled ice cream tacos, which were okay enough for a picture but probably wouldn't have them again. We went shopping; Amber tried climbing into a hot tub swimming pool, which sounded amazing except for the 22K price tag.
These three have been begging me to take them shopping so they could buy matching accessories and do a photoshoot.  I finally did.  I got a glimpse of life with three teenage girls, which both excited me and left me drained.  Ha!   I'm glad they're good friends. Copper's been reading 1-2 Harry Potter books during the last school week, which is pretty good considering it's around 1200 pages in five days.  The school librarian (who is also our 3rd cousin) got Copper these HP glasses.  We now call her Copper Potter and love it. The government bought our kids a new trampoline.  I can't believe the "free" money they're throwing around.  I'm not sure what's happening to the USA but it makes me nervous.  So, we're donating a whole bunch, saving a bunch, and then we got this fun toy. A few Sundays ago I thought it would be a good idea to write out our own desired blessings from God, like Emma Smith.  I wanted it to be serious, and it sort o...

Life

For her last year of elementary school, Copper was picked to be on the All-Star team for Battle of the Books.  She read all of the assigned books and competed against a team of teachers.  Students won and she got a trophy and a tee-shirt.  She's pretty happy.  Parents were sent a link to watch online, so this is the best picture I could get of her and her team. We signed Micah up for a few private karate lessons because we're suckers and the dojo staff are convincing.  She loves her instructor because 1) she's female; 2) her name is Kassie; 3) Kassie started karate at the same age Micah is and is a black-belt instructor, so Micah looks up to her. Last weekend I took the kids to the park. It was windy, but warm and sunny.  It was fun to finally get outside. Our favorite Dakota, our favorite chicken who loves to be held, and our favorite dog who loves to be outside with the kids. When it's cold, I make the kids do the chicken chores. Sometimes Tim plays real ...
