Sunshine?

Sometimes life creates so much stress it's surprising our bodies and minds don't collapse and fall apart. Imagine how mcuh worse it would be if we were really on our own. I suppose my faith grows every day- it has probably doubled since yesterday!! It is amazing how one can be surrounded by darkness and still see and rely heavily on the hand of God. Thank goodness for Him; otherwise I'd probably be looking for a way to bail!

Dear Megan H...

(and no, not Hall) This little note is to tell you I am not a terrible parent. Today was a bit off. I forgot a burp rag, Copper is trying a new bottle nipple, is a sloppy eater, and she felt like acting as if her needs are never met. She can be tricky. Tonight I washed the stink-neck from the dried formula necklace and she smiled. Life is good again.

Smiles

We like Copper even more than we did when she was born.

S'more Work

Not all Mondays are like this- really. Usually we're swarming with busyness. But this morning at work Crazy Terri decided we should make s'mores over the burner. So we took ten minutes and did. And, it worked. I don't know how to rotate videos so you'll have to turn your computer.

A few things

Our stake had a clothing fair. This is what I got Copper. Her face and body are in there, but a bit hard to see. Obviously it's a little big. She'll probably look like the abominable snowman this winter. That's our hope. This is her new stroller. I got it because it's lightweight, fits in my trunk, and because it's orange. Yes, Ashley, I am reminded of you each time I look at it. She's also a little small for this but obviously she doesn't mind. This is me today. I am sticky, dirty, sunburned a little, and my socks adhered themselves to my feet from the sweat of the incredible heat. We went for a retreat at work today, which means everyone , and I took myself right out of my comfort zone and straight into my worst nightmare. Sixty plus witnessed it, so I'm not making it up! A 30 minute "hike" and then repelling down a 500 foot cliff. Okay, 500 feet may be untrue; but it was probably 200, which is still high enough to give me over the top anxiet...

Getting chunky...

My niece Maci just hit 20 pounds. She's 18 months. As of this morning, Copper weighs 11.6 pounds. She is nine weeks . I told you she eats all day!!

Eight is Great

Tomorrow Copper turns eight weeks old. To celebrate her near two month mark, here are lists of eight greats: 1. There are eight days in the week if you count Monday twice. Sometimes Mondays feel as if they last this long. 2. There are eight ways to calm a screaming baby: rock her, stroke her cheeks, give her a bath, let her lay naked, duct tape her mouth, sing her sweet songs, put her in your unfinished basement, bounce her gently on your shoulder, threaten to giver her away. 3. There are eight reasons why home is better than work: you can walk around with little clothes, you can eat when you want, you can put your feet up on furniture, you can take long, hot baths, you can ignore people who call or come over, work is usually not fun, you can be with your family, you seem to laugh more. 4. There are eight reasons why sometimes work is better than home: you can close your office door and turn off the lights so nobody thinks you're there, you can lay under your desk and take a nap (I...

Bath Threat

This is Copper when she first started bathing: This is Copper when she first started bathing and got out of the tub: This is when we told her if she didn't stop she'd have to spend the night in the garage:
