Christmas Santas

Maybe eight or so years ago, Tim and I had a storage shed broken into and a bunch of our stuff was stolen.  Crappy.  I hate theft.  One thing that I immediately was heartbroken over was a collection of Christmas stuff.  When I was pretty young, my aunt Barbara started taking my sister and I to Nordstrom's (or somewhere like that, I can't remember exactly) to buy a Christmas-from-around-the-world Santa.  Over the next many years, we added to our collection.  I loved it. Then they were taken and probably tossed and broken.  Sad. Yesterday my sweet mama gave me these she found!!!!!  I am pretty excited.  They're not exactly the same but it doesn't really matter.  I just love them and I'm excited that I get to remember my childhood Christmases.

Bread, Friendship, Spirits and Bodies, and some of my thoughts....

I got this bread warmer from my good, God-given friend Grace Sorensen.   It means a lot to me and I’m excited to use it.   Here are two quotes I’ve stumbled across in the last few weeks with some reading I’m doing: “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience.”   Teilehard De Chardin “Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting: the soul that rises with us, our life’s star, hath had elsewhere its setting, and cometh from afar.   Not in entire forgetfulness, and not in utter nakedness, but trailing clouds of glory do we come from God, who is our home.”   William Wordsworth My human experience has little to do with who I am; I am a child of God.   He knows me, He loves me, He will help me every day.   That will never change, even as my life on Earth changes.   My Heavenly Father hasn’t sent me here alone, I have a spirit that guides me, directs me, warns me, warms me....

Micah and her mouth

The other day Micah told me I was the second-best mom in the whole wide world.  I sort of just looked at her while Tim busted a gut with laughter, and then I said, "Oh yeah?  Second best?"  "Of course," she said, "Second best to Heavenly Mother."  I'll take it. Me: *looking for some type of conversation* Micah, I'm reading this book about emotions and what parts of our body create them... Micah: Like even our buttcracks?

Fall Life

Halloween 2018: Come and Gone with a Successful Unicorn, Elephant, and Zebra. Earlier this month I sewed Micah a zebra costume.  It took me an incredibly long time because I don't like to sew clothes and it's hard for me.  She tried it on and sweetly said, "Oh, no thanks."  I threw it away and she wore whatever she could find in her closet.  Hahahahaha.... The other night we got home late from work and appointments so we had caramel apples for dinner.  Some nights are like that! It's fall!   I bought this skeleton head 50% the day after Halloween and have decided to keep him up all year and just decorate him with each holiday.  Tim named him Pablo.  This is Micah's corner.  Usually it's filled with trash, candy, projects, and dirty clothes.  Gold star goes to me for being incredibly patient with her deeming this corner her own.  When I can't find her (like when she's supposed to be doing s...
