Rodeo

We dyed the bottom third of Kota's hair bright blue and we all love it... And... last week was rodeo week!! I love the rodeo and everything about it... I love that they talk about God, the freedom of our country, our servicemen; I love the cheer that happens for every day folks and the fun times.  I think I've gone to the rodeo every year for nearly my whole life and I wouldn't change it.  :) BTW: Tim does not feel the same about rodeos... I love the lights, the crowd, and the big ol' mountains in the background...

Lagoon

If we didn't have the Get Out Pass, there's no way we'd go to Lagoon. It would have been $500 just for the daily admission!! Geez. But a while ago I found the pass on sale, so we got in with that. Tim couldn't go on any rides, except for some water ones, and thankfully Copper and Micah love roller coasters, so I only had to go on a few! Dakota loves two things at lagoon. One is the big swings and two is a treat....any one will do... To be honest, Dakota just waited all day for the one treat she was allowed to get there... Top things to remember: 1. I sat up a little bit too high and smacked the top of my head at the very end of a fast water slide. I got an instant headache and a big old bump and a nice red and purple bruise. 2. I was looking for Dakota in the lazy river, and Micah mentioned to me she was the girl under a tube walking. I flipped the tube upside down to scare her only to find out it was a 7-year-old who is extremely startled by me. 3. I went down another ...

Father's Day

I was asked to speak in church today during Sacrament meeting. I honestly think I'm asked to speak more than others- I swear it's once or twice a year, which is interesting because there are dozens and dozens.... But I think it's probably one way God is saying He wants me to shift my focus, learn a little, study a little, and influence a little. I don't mind talking in Sacrament, actually. Writing comes easily for me and I don't mind getting up in front of crowds.  So I said sure. I had some good thoughts while I studied this the last few weeks.  In spite of everything on my plate (it's been SUCH a very busy and crazy month and I have felt stretched, pulled, and incapable of handling everything in my life) I had some specific things come to my mind that were really important to me to share.  (Actually, I didn't get to share all of it. I was the last speaker, which usually has the most time, but the speaker before me talked pretty slow, hahaha, and the Youn...

Girls Camp

One time Tim and said that the year all our girls were old enough to go to girl's camp, we'd take off together for the week. Well, we didn't! Tim doesn't feel great and I had a few work things I couldn't miss. And, I was asked to organize all the food for camp and That Is A Chore!  Eleven meals for 30 people out in the wilderness takes some planning!  The girls went to Cinnamon Creek campground up Logan Canyon. It's the furthest we've ever gone (2.5 hours), but was purposefully chosen because there is absolutely ZERO cell service.  Smart.  Dakota and Copper went up Tuesday with the rest of the group, Micah went up Wednesday because she had a karate thing, and I went up Thursday after work. By the time Saturday hit, everyone was ready for home, their own beds, and showers... It's probably the most beautiful campground I've ever been to.  There was a creek  right next to our campground and everything was incredibly green and alive.   Every year at c...
