9 Month Check Up

We did the babies 9 month check up at almost 10  months... where does the time go?  Luckily no shots this time, just a heel prick for an iron check. Micah weighs 15.8 now and is 26 inches long.  Her little head is 16.1 inches.  She's not on the charts at all, which means basically all the kids her age that are tested are bigger than she is.  At least she's healthy and growing, even with being really petite.  Kota is 16.13 pounds and is 26.1 inches long, with her head at 17.  Small too but healthy and strong! Every morning, or meal time, the babies watch the song "Apples and Bananas" on YouTube.  Micah LOVES this song and it's one of the few things that really make her laugh and clap every single time we play it.  Then we watch every alphabet train song there is for Copper.  The songs get old but watching all the girls love it sure doesn't!  Copper spent time with her cousin Maci today and the two of them practi...

#3: Fun things to do this summer: work in the yard!

Yes, I think working in the yard is fun.  I would do yard work more if I had the time and if the three tikes could entertain themselves for a while.  We tried to do yard work over last weekend, unsuccessfully.  It took me hours and hours to weed what should have taken me about forty-five minutes.  So... on Monday afternoon we decided to do yard work while the kids were at the sitter's.  We tore up half the garden and a big flower bed and put down fabric and colored bark.  We got the rest of the garden ready for seeds/plants.  I mowed and edged the lawn, sprayed bug and weed killer, and still managed to take time off to take the babies to their 9 month doc appointment.  We may not have been all together as a family during this time, but now we can enjoy our yard more when we're all together! As you'll see from the pictures below, there is still a lot to do.  I'm not really sure what to do with the big forest of trees out front.  ...

#2 Fun Things to do this Summer: A trip to the PARK!

Our neighborhood has a cool park; Copper asks nonstop to go so we went after dinner tonight.  It's a no-brainer we'll be here all summer long.  Sometimes when we pray, for example on blessing the food, she'll say "park" in the middle of it.  Or when we pray to have a good day she'll speak up and just say, "park."  Or right when she wakes up, or before she goes to bed, and sometimes right when we've just gotten back .  Our babies too love the park; we even got Micah to laugh on the slide and the swing.  It was a big deal.

50 Things to do this summer and #1

I made a list of 50 things to do this summer and we have a goal to do as many as we can without getting stressed or overloaded.   #1:  Making Copper’s name out of glue and pinto beans.  Maybe it’s this shirt; when she wears it she tends to wink more when I take her picture.

More Easter

More Easter pictures; I forgot my camera at Tim’s parents, but luckily Oma had hers!!

Easter

Easter 2012!  The bunny came to our home on Saturday morning since we decided as a family that we would use Sunday to celebrate the reason for the holiday.  To me, Christ's resurrection is a great symbol of hope and faith and rebirth.  The weather was perfect, too; everything turning alive.  A perfect reminder. So, bright eyed at 6:30 Saturday morning, we discovered what the good old rabbit left.  New Easter bags, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, jump rope, and matching shirts for all the girls.  Plus a little bit of candy.  After seeing this, Copper changed her mind about wanting the Easter Bunny to come; before this when asked, she would say a quick No!  That afternoon we had some of our cousins come over for an egg hunt and lunch.  We have a sweet backyard for an egg hunt.  Although we had to hide the eggs three times because Copper kept picking them all up before we even started, it was still a lot of fun.  That night she sa...
Today we colored eggs for this Easter weekend.  I can't remember if we've done it with Copper before, which doesn't really matter since it seemed brand new for her.  She had fun.  The babies had fun watching.  Next year will be super crazy and fun, with all of them dipping their hands and dropping eggs everywhere.  Happy Easter! Above is Copper's "thumbs up."  We've been working on pointing her actual thumb for about a year, but she can't get it yet.  Oh well, this is really cute too.
