Forget Me Not

Good thing for  President Uchtdorf's talk  this weekend.  Otherwise, I'd be clinging to the golden ticket of babies grown up and wanting to forget what babies are like.  Instead I'm exercising patience and trying to love this stage. Copper is still a cool kid.  She wears whatever she wants to and is such a girly girl.  I don't know where she got it.  She loves clothes, make-up, looking cute ("tute" because she can't say her c's).  Her fantastic smile and captivating eyes make up for the absolutely ridiculous way she looks almost every day. Sometimes these babies are so "tute."  They smile and coo.  And sometimes they lay on the floor staring (NO CRYING) for a while and are fun to have a round.  Sometimes, though, they are the saddest babies I've ever seen.  Except when they're held.  But sometimes even then. Boots.  Baby dress as a skirt- still. (She wears this every single day).  Too big tank. ...

Insert Smile

Sometimes I really can't believe how blessed we are.  And I have a hard time understanding folks who don't think there's a God out there guiding our everyday lives.  I see Him in everything  I look at and experience.  Cool.  I love the way things in life have a way of working out for the better even if the goodness of the beginning, middle, and end are hard to see. Recently Tim and I made two very important purchases.  The first one we call Screamer and the second we call Spitter; otherwise known as Kota and Micah.  Although, Micah may soon be called Scritter since she's gotten pretty dang good at yelling her lungs out.  These girls were pricey little things, and although Tim sometimes says he'd like to get our money back, we love them like mad. Since I've been home on maternity, I've learned patience.  Well, I stand corrected.  I've been given chances every hour of each day to learn patience.  I'm getting better.  I think ...
I cannot get a good picture of this kid.  She's either dressed herself in ridiculous clothes, ignores the camera, or fakes a smile- ending up looking pretty weird.  At least we all know she's cute.  And funny.  The other day at her sitter's she was asked to grab a tissue for her nose.  She came back wiping her nose with a shoe.  Tissue.  Shoe.  Makes sense.  And these two.  It is crazy!  Usually Dakota has a pout on her face or is in full tears.  Man that kid can cry and cry and cry.  Then when she's done, she cries some more.  She is a sweet, angelic baby when she's held upright on my shoulder and bounced up and down.  Micah is very cuddly and loves to be held too.  She gets all riled up with Kota crying, but her thing is to spit up on us every chance she gets.  Not just a little.  Gallons, I swear, at a time.  Down my shirt, in my hair, all over her clothes, the floor, the bed, her b...

Fashionable, to say the least

These are Copper's Dora boots.  When I say she loves them, I really mean it.  She wears them nearly every day.    Besides the boots, she usually doesn't care what she wears.  But sometimes she does, and when she picks it out herself, it's a laugh.  I don't care too much what she decides as long as we're not going to church or somewhere really important.  So today when she decided to wear casual pants, a skirt over the top, and her jacket (no shirt underneath), I said okie-dokie and we headed out the door for a walk in the park.  And, actually, her "skirt" is a size 6 mo. baby dress... Sometimes the babies wear a smile... But usually they wear these faces...
