Routine

Copper has a checklist of five things she's responsible for each evening.  We're sort of past the chart and sticker business and it's just part of the nightly routine now. This is what she said tonight, to herself, while counting off her fingers: "Brush teeth?  Not yet. Book?  Yep. Eat dinner?  Yep. Clean up?  Yep. Prayer?  Nope. Tim?  Time for prayer! Now!"

You don't have to tell us they're cute!

Micah: Loves to climb Loves to crawl into, on top of, under, or over everything Copper: Loves clothes and wears as many at a time as she can Loves books, playing games, coloring, picking veggies from the garden, and playing with the babes Dakota: Loves shoes that are not hers Loves stuffed animals and makes silly faces every day You don't have to tell us they're cute!

It's 3:30 and I've been up for 1.5 hours

At 2 a.m. Micah woke up crying like the world was ending.  She went right back to sleep, in our bed, and I've been up since.  My mind won't stop racing!!  Just this evening I was telling Tim how hard of a time right now I'm having juggling everything.  Work is insanely busy right now with my normal work load and some cool but demanding opportunities.  I am soooo far behind.  Home is always busier than work is.  Put the two together and you have me: stressed and stretched pretty thin. You'd think when 8 p.m. hit and the babies went to bed (on good nights) that I'd try to catch up with the house or work.  Instead I work on stuff like this: Tim thinks it's a dollhouse but I keep telling him it's a bookcase in the shape of a dollhouse. Yes, that's really what it is. I'm in the middle of painting it to match M and K's room.  Tricky, since their room consists of their cribs.  That's it.  And mismatched bedding- nothing to go off of re...

Pile on Copper fun

#35: Fun things to do this summer: Make up and play a new game

I had extra craft blocks so we made a type of charades game.  One block had emotions and the other animals.  Good idea but the execution not so great.  Copper's first "roll" had the blocks thrown across the room and one of them hit Micah in the head.  Then she was more intrigued with the blocks themselves than what was written on them.  Tim acted out a mad lion, which made the babies laugh but startled Copper.  Less than five minutes after it started the game ended.  Maybe we'll try another day...

Family Day

You can't tell from the picture, but there's a 3rd shirt underneath these two, and two pairs of long pants.  You also can't tell from the picture, but her eyes and side of her nose are covered in silver eye shadow.  Stylin.  We also went to see a new niece Sabrinna, Tim's brother's.  Six girls on that side!  Copper wasn't so sure and kept reminding us that we had two babies.  Micah couldn't have cared less, and Kota was extremely jealous.  Then we went to Cameron's 2nd birthday party and relaxed the rest of the evening.  Kota wandered around and looked at cows and chickens.  Micah found this tiny chair and was pretty content just sitting.  Big twins with little twins.  Can't believe I never thought to do a picture like this with my brothers before!

#34: Fun things to do this summer: Date night with ma!

Copper and I went on a date this afternoon.  Discovery Park and shopping at Target.  Copper picked out a new outfit, with shoes, to wear to her first day of preschool in a few weeks.  It was a great break for both of us!  Thanks to dad for watching Kota and Micah!
