36

Today Copper is 36 days old. We love:
1. That she is ours.
2. How she arches her neck like it's going to fall off so she can look around.
3. How incredibly strong she is, like when we're dressing her and she won't bend her legs to fit in her pajamas.
4. How she can sleep through a fire engine siren one moment and wake with a creek in the floor the next.
5. When she makes her mouth into an "o" shape sometimes when trying to pass gas.
6. How sometimes when she eats it sounds as if she's never been fed in her life.
7. When she chuckles. Yes she laughs. Yes, I know child development, and experts may say she's too young. However, I heard that the veil is so thin between here and heaven that when babies smile or, yes, laugh, it could be that their so close to God.
8. How she loved her swing for two weeks and now screams as if it's torture.
9. How she can cry, no, scream, for several hours. We love this because then when she's quiet we're reminded of peace.
10. How she sometimes thrashes her head from side to side when eating or reaching for her pacifier.
11. How she very clearly tells us when she doesn't want something.
12. That sometimes she sleeps with her left eye cracked open. I think she's keeping an eye on us.
13. When she snorts like a farm animal. Tim is so proud.
14. That she has hair.
15. That her hair has definite curl.
16. That she doesn't mind when we spike her hair in a mohawk.
17. That she has small ears.
18. When her belly bulges over her diaper after she eats.
19. How she's growing a double chin.
20. That she survived our smoky home.
21. Her calic (spelling?) right on the front of her head.
22. The time she gives me off work.
23. That she screams when we rub "calming" lotion on her.
24. When she wakes up and cries after hitting herself in the face.
25. That she often sleeps with both arms over her head.
26. That she often throws both arms up when startled.
27. That she falls asleep when eating, at the drop of a hat, and throws her head back with her mouth gaping wide open.
28. When she dreams about dragons chasing her. That's what it looks like.
29. How likes to roll on her side to sleep, and take a bath.
30. How many of you don't believe she can roll on her side but I know what I'm talking about.
31. That she falls alseep when we read the scriptures out loud to her. This is very funny.
32. That others think she's beautiful.
33. That she loves her stroller and has suckered Tim into going for walks almost every night.
34. That she thinks the world revolves around her.
35. That she looks like Tim.
36. How she's perfect.

Comments

  1. I used to fall asleep when I read the scriptures, but now I get into them too much.

"She screams when we rub her with calming lotion" made me LOL!

  2. I totally support confidentiality. Out of curiosity, why did you decided to go private?

Easter-ish, belt exams, and more

Micah's belt exam was last month.  She advanced to the top of three brown belts and her junior black belt exam will be this fall.  She asked me not to tell or invite anyone except Auree... and Auree is her karate friend. She said, "only karate people there except you guys."  Copper was in NY, so it was just Tim and I and Dakota.  Kota's phone died about one hour into the almost four hours we were there, and what a trooper. Haha. Micah is awesome! While waiting they had to do all sorts of "the grind" exercises.  Here she had to put her feet on her friend (boy Ronan) legs and then do push ups. It looked really hard. Jujitsu fighting with friend (girl) Ronan... Three hours in and she just sat and took a break.  She looked beat. I'm grateful for girl Ronan's friendship with Micah.  They're all such great friends with her. Ronan, Kristine, and Micah Ms. Kassie came back to see everyone who was advanced testing! Micah was thrilled; this is her mentor...

She's Here!

Yea! Copper is here and is so beautiful! She was born on June 8, 2009 after a surprise "You're not leaving the hospital" induction. She was 6.13 pounds and 18.5 inches long. She had the cord around her neck twice, so she was this dark haired, albino skin girl with quivering lips. But so cute! She got some color right away and has stayed pink since! Here's a few pics...
We went to California! Micah has her annual karate in the woods event through ISKA, and this year we decided to take the whole family and go a few days early. It kind of stinks because the girls had 4 days of school and then we took off! I don't regret it though. They are hard workers and they got caught up pretty fast.  We got there really early Wednesday morning after an early flight, and started off the day off with a baseball game with the San Francisco Giants. Micah is now baseball's biggest fan. Especially the Giants, and especially number 51. I can't remember his name but she knows everything including his stats. 🤣 Wednesday we also walked Pier 39 and about exhausted ourselves from a very long day.  Thursday we hit the national monument and visitor center of the Golden Gate bridge and then walked along it until we got a pretty decent view of the ocean. So pretty! After that we spent the whole rest of the afternoon at the San Francisco zoo. I think this was Dakota...
