I didn't do a big birthday post, though I had a fine but busy day. A delightful day at work full of court hearings and meetings. Nothing out of the ordinary and my bestie at work took me to lunch. Thank you Megan! I had my hair done after work and went for ice cream with Tim and the girls. Thank you Tim for leaving work early and doing everything great! He even wrote me a letter. I mean typed and everything. Long, folded, enveloped. Just the kind of thing I love. He knows I love notes. I'm such a girl. I'd post it, but it's pretty near and dear. I'll just say I married the very best guy in the universe.
Copper made me at least a dozen birthday cards. "Mom 36. Happy Birthdae. Love Yuo Mom. Frum Copper." Smarty pants writer. Something special about Copper is that she's so aware of others- she's excited for other people's 'big day' without wanting it for herself, she loves and loves and loves. These girls and Tim are the best presents every day of the year but especially my birthday!
I know a very sweet and awesome gal whom I'm blessed to call my sister! She really is amazing. She gave me some hobby craft stuff for my birthday, which was great, but also this card, which just made my day. Plus a plate full of lemon bars. Yummy. Sisters are really one of those tender mercies in life. I love how my girls are first their own best friends because they are sisters. And I love how my sister and I are best friends too. She's been there my entire life! Well, since I was four years old. I kind of wish I could grow up to be like her.
Another great gift was time with my two lifelong friends. Denise, Candis, and I grew up right next to each other, with Denise in the middle. We went to preschool together, elementary and junior high. We fought, made up, were mean to each other, were mean to others, and still we lasted and continue to last! I love these girls and our friendship. Thirty plus years is an incredible friendship, and one that just picks up and carries on despite time, differences, and life. Every year in October we meet in Park City to shop and have lunch. My girls come and love the tradition too. I always consider the time a birthday present to me. They spoil the girls with gifts and attention. They are quickly getting used to it.
Another great year and another great birthday. I'll take this age over any I've had. For sure.
