Tim and I hadn't dated too long when he suggested we pray to see if we ought to continue the relationship and get married sooner than later. We planned it for a night after we took ourselves out to eat and headed back to his house. It was super quiet and he said a great prayer; I can't remember one word of it but I'm pretty sure it was a good one. When I opened my eyes and looked at him, he was crying! Obviously tears of joy. He said, "Wow, did you feel that?"
"Nope."
"You didn't? You don't feel that?"
"No..."
But he did! The Spirit was overwhelming to him. At first I thought something was wrong with me but then felt reassured that I already knew I was supposed to marry Tim. He must have been the one who needed some answers. I'm glad he got them! We married a couple of months later. Best decision we ever had and were ever led to.
We spent the Saturday before our anniversary heading from one temple to another until we found one (Draper!) that was not closed for renovation or cleaning. I had such a neat experience. Earlier in the day, I prayed that if we did sealings that I would pay most attention to the covenants made and asked Heavenly Father to help me understand them! Sometimes it's really rushed, especially if it's a busy night. Saturdays are always busy nights in the temple. But my prayers were answered! The room was packed with three couples and three single ladies. The sealer was so personable and after one sealing he stopped, looked around, and asked if we all understood what he was saying. He explained everything in detail, asked us to pay attention to certain details, and what to walk away understanding and feeling. We only did one sealing, and were there for a long time, but it was so great! One another particular thing the sealer said was that the deceased people for whom we were doing work are angels and are watching their work being done. That's not new- the Spirit is really strong in the temple. What was striking to me is when the sealer said that we are their angels too- their angels on earth doing the work they never got an opportunity to do. I'm so happy!
After the temple we went shopping and talked about our joyful and abundantly filled life. It was a good night. Oh yeah, and food. We ate, of course!!!
