Life's too funny not to document or share...
Tim: Kota, you know you moan in your sleep almost everything night. What do you dream about?
Kota: NOTHING! I DIDN'T DREAM ABOUT ANYTHING!
Tim: You must have, because you groaned and moaned.
Me: Kota, you actually did, and you do almost every night!
Kota: *seriously mad* FINE! I'm calling 9-1-1 because you're making fun of me!
Tim: You can't do that, it's not a real emergency.
Kota: FINE! Then I'm calling GRANDMA on you!
On Sunday night as a family we talked about things in the scriptures that seem impossible but that weren't with Heavenly Father's power. Like- Moses parting the Red Sea for the children of Israel, or Nephi building a boat, or the Jaredites travel across the ocean. I asked the kids to think about things that seem impossible in their own lives but that we shouldn't give up on because Heavenly Father can and does help. We brainstormed impossibilities related to talents, personal goals, etc. I said, "Micah, like maybe sleeping on your own more than you do now (even though you're doing so much better!)..." "Oh yeah!" she said. Then I instructed them to draw their own idea in their journals and write about it.

- Micah drew a picture of a dinosaur coming back to life, with a little drawing of her in the corner shouting (with arms raised) "Oh no! Dino's are alive again, agghh!". "This seems impossible," she said. I guess she's not wrong.
- Dakota draw a fantastic picture of her dirty bedroom, which seems impossible to keep clean.
- Copper drew a picture of her doing a back-handspring on her own and being the first one in her class to finish her math assignment.
We had a gnarly snowstorm on Sunday and it snowed much of the day. I didn't feel like driving to Shandee's for our first extended-family FHE, which bummed the kids, but it made for a great snowfall. Some of it (a lot of it) melted after rain, but we had enough to make a family of snowmen and go sledding with a friend. Making the most of winter.
