Once upon a time on Thanksgiving, Wyatt cut Dakota's hair and she cut his. His cute calic in the back covers where she cut. He cut right square in the middle of her forehead, hahahaha. A week later she came to me, handed me a chunk, and said, "I found my hair!!" She hates to talk about it and hates when I talk about it, so we all just ignore it and pretend it's always been like that.
Once upon a time two weeks ago, Tim was fixing a leak in our bathroom and found some mold, so he tore out the walls and floor, and everything else, and is redoing it from scratch. New everything- floor, walls, vanity, tub, shower, toilet, all of it. I'm so grateful he knows how to do things like this, and with what he doesn't know, he researches, tries it out, and asks for help. He's a super good person.
For awhile, we could see clear down to our living room. When the kids sat on the couch, Tim and I were upstairs in the bathroom finding things to throw at them- water, toilet paper, socks, whatever we could find. They're starting not to laugh at those things...
Once upon another time, we were going through some of my grandma's things and found silicone breasts. It seemed fitting to take a picture, but I didn't want to and neither did Shandee, so we made Amber. She and my mom happily obliged. I am not at all surprised my grandmother had these...
I've been baking up a storm lately. I made this pretty challah bread wreath and seven loaves to give out to work friends at our Christmas lunch. Pretty!
I also have been making a lot of sourdough bread in the Dutch oven. I don't know why but I took pictures of all the steps:
1. Get out your handy tools; bowl, scale, and Danish dough whisk. Those things are magical.
2. Flour, water, yeast, salt. That's it! Mix it in a bowl; wet, shaggy dough.
3. Dump out and stretch/fold every two hours, two or three times.
4. Banneton basket in the fridge for like 16 hours...
5. Score it, cook with the lid on, take the lid off, dig in!
