Gratitude

I really like the spirit around Thanksgiving and this time of year.  It's easy to get caught up in all the commercial propaganda going on.  But when you look for it, you see good people doing good things for those around them.  The season sort of brings about a mindfulness of others. I have a gratitude journal I write in somewhat regularly.  It always begins with "How has God blessed me and those I love today?"  While the answer is often about family and belongings, jobs and community, it is also about the little miracles in life.  Once I heard someone say, "Well if God is around, He sure doesn't show Himself, with all the terrible things going on in the world."  After I picked my jaw up off the floor, I thought about what we allow our minds to see.  I see miracles and the presence of God's hands everywhere and in everything, literally.  I see the miracles and blessings of paying tithes faithfully and without question, not only in that we h...
Copper is quite the big sister.  She loves playing with her sisters, helping them laugh, and being with them.  She watches out for them, hugs and loves them.  So grateful! Here's my girl doing something she loves... Painting. In her Pink Pajamas.

Twin Fun

Making pizza with grandma!  Micah throwing leaves all over Kota.  Dakota looks like she's having fun but she hated it.  I made Micah keep doing it until I got a good picture.  Tears for memories.   They were both yelling, "Help me, help!"

Arrrggg...Happy Halloween Mateys!

c Copper led the way this year, showing Micah and Kota just how to trick or treat.  Our $4 costumes were perfect.  By costumes, I mean black shirts, boots, skirts, and leggings they had.  Throw in some cut up bandanas, dollar store gold necklaces, and some foil-covered cardboard swords and it's a perfect pirate.  They were perfectly polite.  Micah was in awe every time she got candy and frequently had her face in her bucket.  She tried to eat candy all night and got her belly full of sugar.  I love living in our neighborhood and having great neighbors answer to my kids by name with enthusiasm and love.  I think my girls may be famous here. The best part of the night, and where they may have had the most fun, was answering the door to the other treaters.  Happy Halloween!

Conversations with Copper

Me: Copper, what does g-o spell? Copper:  I don't know, mom... flowers? Me: Hey Cops... Copper: My name is Copper. Me: I know, but Cops is kind of a fun name.  Like my name is Cassie and people call me Cass, and dad's name is Timothy and people call him Tim.  So we can call you Cops... Copper:  Oh...yeah.... NO.
These girls Love Halloween.  Both say "Oooooo, spooooky...." whenever they see ghosts or bats or pumpkins or witches or even at the mention of Halloween.  Not only the sound effects, but the raising and shaking of hands.  It's really cute.  Copper can't wait for the big day to go trick or treating.  Coming Soon... 3 scary (but adorable) pirates!
